President's Perspective: REALTOR® Advocacy in Action - Stronger Together

On February 3rd, REALTORS® from across our state gathered at the Capitol for one of the most important days of our year — REALTOR® Day at the Capitol. It was more than a visit to the Statehouse; it was a powerful reminder of what happens when we show up, engage, and lead together.

Throughout the day, we heard from leaders representing all three branches of Idaho’s government, including Phil McGrane, Mike Moyle, Kelly Anthon, Robyn Brody, and Governor Brad Little. Their insights highlighted how closely issues like housing policy, property rights, and community growth tie to the work we do every day as REALTORS®.

What stood out most to me was the level of access and respect our profession has earned. That doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of years of relationship-building, professionalism, and consistent involvement by members of Idaho REALTORS®.

Advocacy is not a single event, and it’s not just RPAC. Advocacy is showing up. It’s asking thoughtful questions. It’s sharing real stories from the clients and communities we serve. When we do that together, our voice is stronger and our impact is greater.

Thank you to every member who participated and represented our profession so well.

Connected Conversations: Pt. 1 What REALTOR® Advocacy Looks Like Day to Day

In this edition of Connected Conversations, Idaho REALTORS® President Michelle Bailey sits down with Government Affairs Director Max Pond to discuss the start of Idaho’s legislative session and what it means for REALTORS® across the state.

Max shares insight into the Governor’s State of the State address, the budget outlook, and the key priorities shaping this year’s legislative discussions. He also explains what REALTOR® advocacy looks like on a daily basis—from attending committee hearings and meeting with lawmakers to tracking legislation that impacts property rights, homeownership, and the real estate profession.

This conversation provides a behind-the-scenes look at how Idaho REALTORS® stays actively engaged throughout the legislative session to represent members and protect the interests of homeowners and communities statewide.

The February Connect Conversation videos will be an ongoing series on Advocacy. Multiple parts will be released throughout the rest of the month, so stay tuned to hear more from Max and Michelle.

IR Open Houses Kick Off in Two Weeks!

Idaho REALTORS® is launching a new Open House program in 2026 focused on connection, conversation, and communities—and our first stop starts soon. Beginning Monday, February 23, we’ll be visiting local associations to host informal, welcoming Open Houses where REALTORS® can meet leadership, ask questions, share what they’re seeing in their market, and take part in an open dialogue about the issues shaping real estate across Idaho.

These Open Houses are not presentations or lectures. They’re conversations—designed for every member, including those who may not be highly engaged, to better understand the value of membership and feel more connected to the work being done on their behalf.
