IR's Riding with the Brand Event is NEXT WEEK!

It is almost time for the Idaho REALTORS® 2023 Riding with the Brand bus event at the Idaho State Capitol Building in Boise! The event is packed with a range of exciting activities, including the NAR Riding with the Brand Bus, free food, fun games and events, prizes, and a “Riding with the Brand” bike ride with 2023 IR President Denise Lundy, NAR President Kenny Parcell, and NAR President Elect Tracy Kasper. You’ll also hear from guest speakers from the State and NAR including Kenny Parcell, Tracy Kasper, and Idaho Governor Brad Little. A DJ will provide music and entertainment throughout the event. Drinks and snacks will be provided by Idaho REALTORS® and catered by Life’s Kitchen. There will also be a Code of Ethics class at the Lincoln Auditorium where CE credits will be available.


There are also free fun and games in which you can win raffle tickets to help you win event prizes. Activities include riding a mechanical bull, cornhole, and a putt-putt challenge. Event prizes include a six-person white water rafting guided trip down the Salmon River, a Traeger Grill Pro Series 22, a bicycle, and eight-box seat tickets to the Caldwell Night Rodeo for Saturday, Aug 19th. You can even take a picture at the event and post it on social media to receive a raffle ticket.

You will also have a chance to win a one-of-a-kind custom-built Riding with the Brand motorcycle (pictured above).


For your chance to win this amazing motorcycle and help drive home the REALTOR® DIFFERENCE, donate a minimum of $50 to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation. Limit of three (3) separate Donation Entries per person.

The event concludes with a group photo and a “Riding with the Brand” bicycle ride to the Boise Greenbelt and a stop at Payette Brewery for some refreshments. The bike ride will be lead by 2023 IR President Denise Lundy, NAR President Kenny Parcell, and NAR President Elect Tracy Kasper. Bring your bicycle for the group photo and bike ride to receive extra raffle tickets for prizes! You can view the bike path above.


If you are unable to bring a bike but would still like to participate we encourage you to rent a bike from a local vendor. The closest rental to the Capitol Building is MCU Sports. Click here to view their rental page.

Celebrate NAR-NFF reforestation efforts in Idaho and learn how similar initiatives can help support the real estate industry’s health and sustainability, build your business and increase your value proposition to clients. 


NAR Community and Stewardship: Boise, Idaho will celebrate the 215K trees being planted in Idaho National Forests as part of the NAR-NFF tree-planting initiative. The planting supports reforestation efforts in the Boise and Nez-Perce Clearwater National Forests, targeting recovery from the 2016 Pioneer Fire and 2021 Johnson Creek Fire.


At the Event:

Idaho REALTORS® 2023 Scholarship Applications Now Open!

Idaho REALTORS® is offering several scholarships to qualified students for the 2023-2024 school year. High school seniors and full-time students enrolled in a college, university, or vocational-technical school can apply for two $2,500 scholarships or five $1,500 scholarships by submitting a completed application, official transcripts, three non-related reference letters, a high-resolution photo, and a short biography. Students must be US citizens and preference will be given to those studying real estate or a related field, attending schools in Idaho, or having a connection to a REALTOR® office or Affiliate business.


The deadline for applications is June 16, 2023, by 5 pm MT, and applicants should send their materials to [email protected] or Idaho REALTORS® at 10116 W Overland Rd, Boise, Idaho 83709.

Board of Directors Meeting is April 27th

The April Board of Directors Meeting is right around the corner. Mark your calendars for April 27th, 2023 at The Grove Hotel in Boise, ID. The meeting will start at 9:00 am in the Evergreen Room on the second floor, following a continental breakfast at 8:30 am. Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm in the Aspen/Cedar room. Packet materials will be available in a future email update, and on the second floor. Don't forget to reserve your Grove Hotel room by April 4th using the provided link.

ICYMI: IR March Webinars

Idaho REALTORS® recently hosted two informative webinars in March that provided valuable insights and updates for real estate professionals. The first webinar, held on March 22nd, focused on REALTOR® Safety and featured Sam Huff as the presenter. Sam provided an overview of real estate safety for real estate professionals and covered the latest safety stats from the past year, emerging safety trends that REALTORS® should be aware of, and important tips on how to stay safe.

The second webinar was held on March 29th and featured Jason Risch and Todd Davis, who provided an update and overview of the 2023 Form changes. This 2023 Forms Overview webinar was a great opportunity for attendees to stay up-to-date with the latest forms and discuss any questions they might have about the new changes.

Both webinars were recorded, and the recordings are available online for those who missed the live events.

Boise: GRI 101 - Taxation & Investment Property; Tax & Self-Employed is a comprehensive course which covers critical issues that real estate professionals need to be aware of, such as the latest tax regulations on the deductibility of real estate taxes, home mortgage interest, and home equity indebtedness interest. Participants will also learn about tax changes to IRC 1031 Exchange and how they impact real estate investment properties. The course also covers strategies for buying, holding, and selling investment real estate, and significant tax deductions available for self-employed individuals, including the new 20% Qualified Business Income Deduction.

Contracts in Real Estate Transactions; Negotiations


Boise: This course provides a comprehensive overview of basic contract law and how it impacts the real estate licensee. The topics of unauthorized practice of law, types and validity of contracts, and an overview of the elements of a contract are covered in depth. Other areas addressed include the parole evidence rule, legally competent parties, unilateral and bilateral contracts, mutual agreement, assignment/novation, contract breach and misrepresentation. Real estate contract preparation is also included.
