Raising the Bar | Article 4: Full Disclosure - Understanding 4-2

The newest episode of the "Raising the Bar: Idaho REALTOR® Code of Ethics" series is now available, featuring Immediate Past President Katrina Wehr. In this video Katrina explains Article 4 and Standard of Practice 4-2, which are about transparency and disclosure when you yourself have a direct connection to a transaction.

If you or someone close to you has a present or potential ownership interest in a transaction, that interest must be disclosed in writing. Katrina walks through what that disclosure looks like, why it matters, and what can happen if it’s overlooked. From lost trust to legal trouble, the risks are real—but so are the solutions.

Remember that disclosure doesn’t mean telling your whole life story. It means providing the right information at the right time to maintain professionalism and protect everyone involved. Watch this video to learn how a simple act of honesty can keep your deals on track and your reputation intact.

Idaho REALTORS® Releases New Public Service Announcements

Idaho REALTORS® is committed to protecting both its members and their clients. This March, we've released two important Public Service Announcements (PSAs), now available for viewing.

The first PSA addresses the rising issue of land and wire fraud in Idaho. Presented by Jennifer McCulloch, IR’s First Vice President for 2025, the video highlights fraudulent schemes targeting vacant land and absentee-owned homes. It includes valuable tips for REALTORS® on recognizing warning signs, verifying seller identities, and conducting thorough property research.

The second PSA focuses on REALTOR® safety—your most important asset. As REALTORS®, meeting new clients and conducting open houses are daily activities that require vigilance. This video outlines five practical safety strategies: advance registration, clear communication with colleagues, safe practices when meeting clients, property awareness, and preparedness in self-defense.

Both PSAs are now available on our YouTube channel. Stay informed, stay vigilant, and keep yourself and your clients safe.
