Prioritizing Safety: REALTOR® Safety Month

September isn't just the start of the fall season; it's also REALTOR® Safety Month. As real estate professionals, the nature of our work can sometimes expose us to potential risks. In fact, the 2022 REALTOR® Safety Survey highlights alarming statistics of the potential dangers REALTORS® face while on the job:

  • 45,000 REALTORS® were victims of a crime while performing their duties;
  • 300,000 REALTORS® felt fear for their safety while on the job; and
  • 400,000 REALTORS® don’t have safety protocols in place to protect themselves.

It's time to change that.

The National Association of REALTORS® is offering invaluable resources and tools this month to bolster your safety, including a REALTOR® Safety Month Webinar on September 13th and a 30-day Safety Month Plan Calendar to help you plan and practice your safety plan this month.

But the commitment to safety doesn't stop at the national level. Idaho REALTORS® provides its members with the SafeShowings Enterprise app, a vital tool that acts as an additional security layer during showings. Most importantly SafeShowings is FREE for all members!

This month ensure that your safety isn't left to chance. Register, equip yourself with the right tools, and remember: the real value in real estate is YOU
