Call for Interest | NIH Funding Opportunity

The Cornell Center for Health Equity (CCHEq) is hosting a brainstorming meeting to gauge interest and develop fundamental collaborations with the intent of submission for the upcoming NIH educational funding opportunity. Galvanizing Health Equity Through Novel and Diverse Educational Resources (GENDER) Research Education R25 (R25 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

Funding Opportunity Purpose:

The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this ORWH R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation’s diverse biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs.   


To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on Courses for Skills Development and Curriculum or Methods Development.

Young Investigators Award Recipient


Congratulations to Lily D. Yan, M.D., M.Sc., 3rd- year Global Health Research Fellow within the Cornell-Hunter Health Equity Research Fellowship, who has been awarded the 30th Young Investigators Award of 2022 in Weill Cornell Medicine's Department of Medicine. 


Dr. Yan is the first fellow ever to receive such an award!

CCHEq Research Pilot Project Awardees


Last Spring, the Cornell Center for Health Equity (CCHEq) was pleased to announce a funding opportunity for a new cycle of research pilot project grants. The purpose of this grant was to enhance and develop innovative research practices related to health equity. This year we were particularly interested in proposals that center on perspectives from historically marginalized and oppressed populations. During this grant cycle, three projects were selected for funding in amounts ranging up to $50,000. We are delighted to highlight this year's CCHEq Research Pilot Project grant recipients.

Pilot Project Title: Engaging food retailers to improve nutrient-dense food access and food sustainability capacity for marginalized groups in residential urban food environments

Pilot Project Title: Expanding Understanding of Black Experiences of Gynecologic Cancer: A Nationwide Qualitative Research Project with Survivors and Oncologists
