AGE Africa Scholars know that girls are our next-generation climate change leaders. This July, we convened 400 AGE Africa Scholars, alumnae, and local female climate change advocates at our annual All Scholar's Retreat to discuss the impacts of climate change in their communities and schools.

AGE Africa Scholars took center stage, sharing stories of being displaced and out of school for three months after heavy floods crippled their communities. Others performed a skit they wrote highlighting the negative effects of deforestation and proposed sustainable alternatives. At the end of the retreat, Scholars developed action plans to take the lead in combating climate change in their communities.

We're proud of our scholars for speaking up about environmentalism and taking action as climate change leaders!
