New: Temporary Traffic Accommodation

AMHSA's Temporary Traffic Accommodation course will prepare you for construction season. Municipalities often need to safely accommodate traffic through work zones and construction areas. Traffic control solutions might include barricades, signage, delineators, lane closures, flag persons, and other devices used to help control traffic flow through both urban and rural work zones. Ensure that you and your team understand provincial requirements, best practices, and strategy with AMHSA's Temporary Traffic Accommodation course.

Temporary Traffic Accommodation is recommended for municipal project managers, engineers, and planners. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a traffic accommodation strategy.

The course includes classroom instruction, exercises, and interactions. Each exercise builds on the previous as the course progresses, so by the end of the course, each participant will have a completed traffic accommodation strategy developed using what they have learned. Participants will become familiar with provincial laws, industry standards, jurisdictional requirements, and the development of traffic accommodation strategies and planning.

New: Trenchless Underground Construction Awareness (TUCA)

Are you familiar with the dangers found in and around trenchless construction sites? TUCA was developed for workers, employers, supervisors, managers, HSCs, and HSRs who may need to understand the hazards associated with working in and around trenchless construction. AMHSA’s program includes 3 no-cost, optional parts: an introductory video, eLearning course, and classroom instruction. Participants will be provided with the knowledge and tools required to recognize, identify, and assess site hazards, and to have the confidence and terminology to effectively communicate any observed concerns.

This session will explain what a JDA is, what information is contained in a JDA and who should write a JDA. Lastly, this session reviews how JDAs can be used by multiple business units within an organization.
