Supervisor's Role Focus Groups
|
AMHSA is rebuilding the Supervisor’s Role course from the ground up, and we want your input!
This course, available in both instructor-led and eLearning formats, is a cornerstone of our health and safety leadership training because we recognize the critical role that supervisors play in keeping your organizations healthy and safe. We also recognize that the field of health and safety has evolved in the last few years, and we want to reflect that evolution in our training. This revision will bring a greater focus on psychosocial health and safety, update the content to reflect current industry standards, and offer engaging content that meets current best practices in adult learning. The primary purpose of this revision is to ensure that this course meets your needs.
If you’re involved in health and safety leadership in your organization, either directly or in a planning and support capacity, we want to hear from you!
We are hosting three initial focus groups for Cities, Towns & Villages, and HR Representatives. The goal of these focus groups will be to conduct needs analyses in each of these three core audiences. This needs analysis will form the foundation for the revision plan. Participants in these focus groups will be invited to offer feedback as the revision develops, helping guide the creation of learning objectives, activities, and content. Click the links below to register.
Cities – March 14, 9-10:30 am
HR Representatives – March 15, 9-10:30 am
Towns and Villages – March 17, 9-10:30 am
If you are unable to make these times but interested in being part of the process, please email tiffany@amhsa.net.

Audits and Municipal Council
|
In December 2022, AMHSA communicated with auditors and municipal CAOs about the inclusion of municipal council in interview sampling (when the WCB account being audited for COR includes council). We have received several questions since that time about removal of council from the account being audited by creating a separate WCB account for councillors.
To accomplish this, a written request to have Councillors placed under a separate WCB account is to be submitted by an authorized representative via email or letter to WCB-Alberta Underwriting (underwriting@wcb.ab.ca). Underwriting has been made aware of this unique situation, and will therefore be best suited to provide the correct response. We do not recommend calling the WCB’s general information telephone lines about this specific situation as a unique process is required.
Frequently asked questions about audits and municipal council are available on the website, along with the communications distributed to auditors and CAOs. These FAQs will be kept up-to-date when we receive additional questions or have new information to convey.
If you have questions about this topic or about the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program, please contact:
