Comment by Doron Almagor, MD, FRCPC: A new JAMA Psychiatry study from Finland adds to the growing body of evidence supporting timely diagnosis. Following 580,132 young people, Volotinen et al. found that an earlier age at first ADHD diagnosis was associated with a higher GPA at 16, more academic education, and lower school dropout by age 20. Those diagnosed in the last years of compulsory education fared worst, and girls were diagnosed later than boys. CADDRA welcomes your thoughts in the forum. |
