Firestop Seminar Set for Jan. 25
Firestopping has become a hot topic because of the new Firestop Inspector requirements in the International Building Code (IBC). This training is designed for Plans Examiners, Fire and Building Inspectors, Contractors, Architects and Engineers.
We will review the requirements of sections 714 and 715 of the IBC
r joint systems, perimeter containment, through and membrane-penetrations, discuss the new ASTM firestop inspection standards and you will receive an overview of draftstopping and the residential requirements of fireblocking.
This program will also provide code compliant solutions along with helpful hints for plans examiners and inspectors.
The presenter will be Brice Miller.
Brice has over 25 years' e
xperience as Building Official, Inspector and Plans Examiner and holds four International Code Council (ICC) certifications. He has pro
vided firestop presentations to most state ICC Chapters throughout the country and proposed the ICC firestop inspector certification that should be implemented in 2018, and was instrumental in th
e development of the new ICC book, titled Firestopping, Joint Systems and Dampers.
