STEM Opportunities Around the Region and State

Waco, Texas., will be one of the best places to view the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse, with 4 minutes and 13 seconds of totality and excellent prospects for clear skies on the eclipse path!

A free, family-friendly celebration of the eclipse and building STEM awareness, opportunity, and education hosted by Eclipse Over Texas: Live from Waco, ESC Region 12, and the City of Waco

Get Your Students and Staff Involved!

We anticipate welcoming over 10,000 attendees throughout the day! Be sure to secure a spot for your school to showcase their amazing with all who attend.

Interactive Booths


Any group of students and/or staff (eg robotics teams, STEM clubs, science clubs, arts clubs) is invited to host an interactive booth for STEAMlipse attendees.


Booths can range from showcasing robotics creations or STEM discoveries to facilitating science experiments or providing opportunities for simple art projects.

Performances


Bands, dance troupes, cheerleaders, drama clubs, singers, or any other group of students who would like to showcase their talent are welcome to be part of the STEAMclipse Celebration.


Participating groups will have thirty minutes to perform.

Eclipse Book Bundle Giveaway


Author Jayme Sandberg is giving away a Total Solar Eclipse: A Stellar Friendship Story educational bundle including 12 paperbacks, 1 hardcover, 13 book-themed solar viewing glasses, a "Together We Shine" sticker sheet and a personalized video of Jayme reading the book.

The Million Cans Recycling Contest



Scrap University Kids has chosen La Vega Elementary in Waco, TX, as the sole representative for the state to compete in recycling the most cans. La Vega is currently in 2nd place!
