New Look Unveiled!
What better time than the anniversary of our 150th year to kick off a fresh new look? This is just the start of an exciting new year that will not only include beautifully packaged visuals like a new logo and website but also a thoughtful closer look at our programs and services to see how we can make an even bigger impact for the people and animals in our community!
Message From Our President
As the 11th President and General Agent of the Rhode Island SPCA, I follow in the footsteps of years of great leadership and dedication to this organization.

Our 150th anniversary is now upon us, and we continue to lead the State of Rhode Island in the fight against animals cruelty. While the history of the Rhode Island SPCA is deeply rooted in anti-cruelty, our mission and programs have grown over the years, making us a renowned and reputable resource for animal welfare in the state.

In addition to our existing programs, in 2020, you can look forward to accessible low-cost veterinary services in the community, public dog training classes and a variety of humane educational opportunities for children and adults.

Your past support has made us the oldest humane organization in the State of Rhode Island, and your continued support will allow us to further our mission in “speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.”

Partnership Highlight ~ ABC6!
Countless animals have been adopted, thanks to our weekly segment, "Pick of the Litter" with Chelsea Priest at ABC6 News . We'd like to extend our gratitude and appreciation for their support and hope that you continue to tune in every Tuesday at Noon to see our featured pet for adoption. This partnership is truly a life-saver for so many animals in our community!
Happy Tails
T hanks to the incredible support from our community, 742 cats, dogs and smallies were adopted in 2019!
In December alone , 64 animals were adopted during our Home For the Holidays promotion and we saw some of our long time residents find loving homes (including Bruno pictured here)!

A heartfelt THANK YOU from our staff and volunteers for everyone who chose to adopt from the Rhode Island SPCA!
With a Little Help From Our Friends
Thank you to everyone who donated so many toys and treats this holiday season!

From company donation drives to children asking for donations in lieu of birthday gifts, so many of you think of the animals and are so generous.

We keep an updated Wish List along with an Amazon Wish List on our website if you would like to take a look at the things that are at the top of our list!

1870 ~ 2020
Founded in 1870, the Rhode Island SPCA is not only the oldest humane organization in the state of Rhode Island but the third oldest in the United States. 2020 marks our 150th anniversary of providing critical programs and services for the animals and people in our community.

As a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we do not receive any local, state or federal funding nor are we affiliated with any national humane organization. We rely solely on donations from individuals, businesses and foundations.
