While we are a private, non-profit organization, we also provide an invaluable service to the State of Rhode Island through the services of our Division of Law Enforcement. In 2019 we conducted 94 animal cruelty investigations, resulting in the seizure of 157 animals.

We provide investigative assistance to every municipal police department, Rhode Island State Police and Department of Environmental Management.

We would not be able to provide this service along with offering a number of other essential programs in animal welfare, without the support and generosity of the community and our donors. With this in mind, the Rhode Island SPCA is taking a creative legislative approach to support our mission.

In 2020 we will be introducing a bill to create a special license plate to commemorate our 150th anniversary. This will be an excellent opportunity for the citizens in our state to show their support for the Rhode Island SPCA and be a voice in “speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for more details to come!

Sincerely,
