Well, it looks like we are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel! I am delighted to announce that, effective on May 15th, our shelter will once again be open to our volunteers and to the public. We will continue to follow recommended precautions and will be sure to keep the number of people in the shelter low enough to allow for appropriate distancing, but we expect to be able to operate close to our pre-pandemic capacity and we hope that many of our friends and supporters will stop by to say hello.
We are particularly pleased that so many of our volunteers have agreed to return and work with our animals. Our volunteers are a tremendous source of support and have been sorely missed by both our staff and our animals. We expect to have several adult dogs and cats along with multiple litters of kittens and puppies available for adoption by mid-May and we look forward to getting back to normal operations.
At about the same time as you receive this monthly newsletter, we will be launching our annual appeal - Spring into Action with the RISPCA. We would not be able to do what we do without your continuing support. I am deeply grateful to all of our donors, supporters and volunteers. Please feel free to visit the shelter once again starting on May 15th.
