"Vail: Did You Know?" - The Story Behind The Trail 'Riva Ridge'
Ever wonder where the trail "Riva Ridge" got its name? As you may know, Vail owes much of its history to the  10th Mountain Division , an elite group of mountain warfare light infantry that trained at nearby Camp Hale and served in World War II. The trail name comes from the infantry’s best-known combat achievement on Riva Ridge in the mountains of Northern Italy in February of 1945. As t he single longest run on the mountain, Riva Ridge is one of Vail’s most iconic ski trails dropping an impressive 3,000 vertical feet over four miles.
Lindsey Vonn Foundation: 70's Glam Jam
We all know Lindsey Vonn, the athlete, but now meet Lindsey Vonn, the philanthropist, at her Foundation’s largest fundraiser on 4/5 at the Four Seasons Vail. Break out those vintage platforms, glitter, and spandex for a 70's Glam Rock celebration. Walk the red carpet, pose for the cameras, sip on creative concoctions, dine on delicious food, dance with good friends, and rock out to cool jams.
In addition to all the fun, the event will also host a mobile silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind memorabilia, exclusive destination vacations, fine art and more. All funds raised will support the Lindsey Vonn Foundation and its mission to engage the community and future generations with a positive and constructive atmosphere through scholarships, education, and athletics.
