December 2023

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language and next year’s words await another voice.”

— T.S. Eliot

Dear Residents & Community Members,

We hope this update finds you enjoying the holiday season and the ongoing celebration that comes with it. This time of year is often considered a favorite for many as it affords us the time to slow down, spend time with family and friends and reflect on what's most important.

With 2023 quickly coming to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to Councilman Mike McGinn whose tenure will come to an end this month. Stepping up to serve at a critical time in Monroe, Mike has given countless hours for the betterment of Monroe for the past 8 years as Councilman. We appreciate his willingness to serve the residents and community members of the Town of Monroe and dedication to instilling positive change. Please join me in wishing him all the best as he moves on.

On behalf of the Town Board, we wish you a Healthy, Prosperous New Year and look forward to what's in store for Monroe in 2024.

All the best,

Tony Cardone

Supervisor, Town of Monroe

O Christmas Tree, How Lovely Are Your Branches!

Residents and community members gathered on Monday, December 18th for the lighting of the Smith's Clove Park Christmas Tree. With Santa and the Grinch on hand and hot chocolate to enjoy, a good time was had by all! Thank you to the Monroe Joint Parks and Recreation Commission for organizing this wonderful holiday outing!

A Season of Giving-

Toys for Military Tots Success

This year's Toys for Military Tots campaign resulted in the collection of over 5,000 toys which were shared with the two recipient groups, children of Disabled American Veterans and children of military either stationed or deployed at Stewart Air Force Base. Since its inception 10 years ago, Toys for Military Tots has helped to provide a joyous holiday for countless Orange County military families. Thank you to everyone who stopped by Town Hall or another drop-off site to contribute to the campaign.
