Dear Residents & Community Members,

As we head into Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end to Summer, we hope this update finds you enjoying the last days of what has been a hot and DRY season. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the Mandatory Water Restriction that was recently issued by the Town, along with the Village of Monroe and Village of Harriman.  Let's hope we receive some much needed rainfall in the days ahead!

Pictured above is the Orange County Jon Boat Bass Club that we recently had the pleasure of meeting at Round Lake on a beautiful evening. In speaking with them, we learned that they visit the lake on a weekly basis during the season for fishing, fun, and time well spent with friends. It's always a pleasure to chat with our residents as they enjoy what our town has to offer.

As Summer winds down, we are excited to announce that we will soon begin construction of several Pickleball Courts at Mombasha Park. We are excited to introduce this very popular activity to our area! If you haven't played yet, we hope you take the time to check out this fun paddle sport that is appealing to all ages! Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks as this project progresses.

Lastly, with the start of the school year upon us, we extend our best wishes to all students, teachers and faculty for a healthy, happy and successful school year ahead.

There are many community events and activities scheduled in the weeks ahead. We've included some information below on just a few. We hope to see you there!

Be well,

Tony Cardone

Supervisor, Town of Monroe

A Day of Fun and Food for Warwick's Senior Citizens

Local officials, including Town of Monroe Supervisor, Tony Cardone recently had the opportunity to volunteer at the Warwick Senior Citizen BBQ held at the Town of Warwick Park located at Union Corners Road.  With over 700 Seniors in attendance, it was a wonderful day of food and fun made possible by many volunteers on both the local and county level.

Stay tuned as we announce plans in the near future for a Senior BBQ in Monroe!

Troop 440 Continues to Make An Impact in Monroe

The Town of Monroe recently presented leaders of Troop 440 with a donation based on funds raised at the June 2022 Food Truck Festival.

The Town of Monroe is grateful for the efforts of the Scouts of Troop 440 for their dedication to completing Eagle Scout projects which continue to have a lasting impact on our community.  Since 2018, over 15  Troop 440 Scouts have completed their Eagle Scout projects with the Town of Monroe.  Every Scout of Troop 440 that we have been privileged to work with has exhibited hard work, perseverance and a willingness to go above and beyond for the benefit of the Town.

With all the options available to young men in today’s fast paced society, choosing the route to earn the rank of Eagle Scout is an admirable and selfless choice. We are thankful to both the Scouts and leaders of Troop 440 for making an impact in the Town of Monroe!
