March 2025

Dear Residents & Community Members,

Spring has sprung and with the change in season, we are given the chance to hit the reset button and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose. Spring also means spring cleaning and in the case of the town, this equates to our annual Monroe Clean Sweep event! This year's Clean Sweep will take place on Saturday, April 26th at a new location this year-Monroe Town Hall. In addition to free shredding services and electronics & tire disposal, we are excited to announce the addition of textile recycling. Please see the flyer below for more information on registration and sponsorship opportunities.

We are pleased to also share information regarding an Arbor Day celebration that will take place on April 26th at Mombasha Park (Soccer Field/Pickleball Court entrance) after the Clean Sweep event from 1-2 p.m. The Town of Monroe will be handing out free Norway Spruce saplings, courtesy of Wickes/Arborists, to all residents to plant in their yard (while supplies last). The Monroe Conservation Commission will also be in attendance providing some literature about invasive species, appropriate tree plantings for our area, wildlife and helpful planting tips. The Town of Monroe will also be planting two trees at the Mombasha Park with the assistance of Boy Scout Troop #440 in observance of Arbor Day.

We look forward to seeing you at one of these upcoming events. In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and the start of some warmer temperatures!

All the best,

Tony Cardone

Supervisor, Town of Monroe
