Dear Residents & Community Members:
Happy Fall! I think we can all agree that living in our town means we are privileged to enjoy first hand not only some of the most beautiful autumn landscapes, but a plethora of activities that allow us to experience the best of the season! As we welcome October in a few short days, we are preparing for one of our favorite events of the season, the Town of Monroe Fall Food Truck Festival. We hope you'll be able to join us for this fun-filled day on Saturday, October 16th as we honor American Legion Post 488 of Monroe and Harriman Post 1573.
We are also excited to announce that the Town of Monroe, together with the Greater Monroe Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the 1st Annual Trunk-or-Treat event in the Town Hall parking lot on Saturday, October 23rd. Please see the event flyer below for more information.
Best wishes for a season full of good health, fun, plenty of apples, and of course, pumpkin spice! Get out there and enjoy it.
Cordially,
Tony Cardone
Supervisor, Town of Monroe
Pictured above is Roy A. Montanye, Jr. Park, a town owned park located on Lakes Road and within walking distance to the Village of Monroe. A true treasure of the area, the park provides a peaceful getaway from the routines of everyday life. Sitting benches, a beautiful stone bridge, and a view of the Roscoe Smith Estate are some of its offerings. The park is named after Roy A. Montanye, Jr. (1945-2010) who served as Highway Superintendent for the Town of Monroe for 22 years.
