September 2024

Dear Residents & Community Members,

It's been a busy month for the Town of Monroe Highway Department with our dedicated employees working to complete several projects including general maintenance on town roads, an emergency repair on O&R Road to address a deteriorating culvert pipe causing road integrity issues, a temporary fix to address drainage issues on Highview Road as well as the culvert replacement on East Mombasha Road. The town is working with our engineer on the design plan to implement permanent drainage improvement on Highview Road to address consistent issues caused by significant rain storms. *Pictured on the left is the temporary fix on Highview Road to address drainage issues.

With October here, two popular town events will return to help us celebrate the season. The Town of Monroe Food Truck Festival will take place on Saturday, October 19th at O&R Park from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. with an exciting lineup of food trucks and entertainment. The following week, the Town of Monroe Trunk-or-Treat returns on Saturday, October 26th from 6-8 p.m. at O&R Park with candy, costumes and Halloween fun. On November 2nd, Smith's Clove Park will be hosting a Fall Festival with plenty of fun for all ages. Please see below for additional information on all of these events.

Lastly, with Election Day just a month away, Monroe Town Hall will once again serve as an Early Voting Site beginning later this month. More information on Early Voting hours can be found in this month's newsletter. Should you have any questions related to voter registration, polling locations or absentee ballot requests, please contact the Orange County Board of Elections at (845) 360-6500 or visit their website at https://www.orangecountygov.com/783/Board-of-Elections.

Best wishes for a fun-filled October!

All the best,

Tony Cardone
