Dear Residents and Community Members, Spring has sprung after what felt like an endless Winter! While we continue to face COVID related challenges and life doesn't feel quite normal just yet, the Spring season has a way of reawakening hope and reminding us that brighter days are ahead. As such, we continue to move ahead with plans for our June Food Truck Festival scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 19th at O&R Park. We will continue to plan for this event while considering the most up-to-date social gathering guidelines for the safety and well being of our residents and community members. While the event may look different than we are used to, it is our sincere hope to be able to host this event in some capacity. Please stay tuned for additional details over the upcoming months. Monroe Dial-A-Bus Transports Pallottine Sisters to Goshen for COVID-19 Vaccinations Town of Monroe Dial-A-Bus Head Bus Driver, Dominick Pascullo along with assistance from Town Supervisor, Tony Cardone and Senior Center Director, Ann Marie Morris recently provided transportation for the Pallottine Sisters in Harriman to the Goshen COVID Vaccine POD. A special thank you to County Executive, Steve Neuhaus and the entire Goshen POD staff for being so accommodating. As a reminder, the Town of Monroe Dial-A-Bus service is available by reservation to residents who are in need of transportation to COVID-19 vaccine sites in the Monroe and Goshen area. Reservations are available by calling 783-6222.

Delanceys Bar & Restaurant to Open Second Location in Downtown Monroe We share in the community excitement surrounding Delanceys Bar & Restaurant's (located in Goshen) plan to open a second location on Lake street in the town owned DeAngelis Building. We look forward to welcoming them to the area in the near future as we continue our business development efforts in Monroe.

In addition to the Clean Sweep efforts, the semi-annual Shredding and Electronics Recycling event will take place on April 24th in the St. Anastasia parking lot as well and is open to all Town residents.

In light of the recent tragic fire in Spring Valley and the untimely passing of Firefighter Jared Lloyd, who made the ultimate sacrifice, we are once again reminded of the invaluable work our volunteer first responders perform day in and day out. These brave men and women answer the call of duty without hesitation, not for a paycheck, but out of the most selfless desire to help others and serve their community. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the volunteer members of the Monroe Joint Fire District and Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps. We are forever grateful for the sacrifices they make and their willingness to serve.

Tax Preparation Services at Monroe Senior Center AARP, together with the United Way are offering tax preparation services at the Monroe Senior Center by appointment only through May 10th.
