"Gratitude Turns What We Have Into Enough"

The season of giving is once again upon us and with it, brings an opportunity to reflect, reach out to a neighbor in need and restore our faith in ways that are most meaningful to each of us. We are reminded on a daily basis of all that is good in our Town with stories shared and good deeds witnessed of residents and businesses alike going above and beyond to make an impact in our community. In this month's update, we've shared some local opportunities to assist those in need this holiday season. Whether you choose to participate in one of these events or one that is close to your heart, we thank you for all that you do to support those in need in our community.
Understanding that the holidays will be unique this year, we continue to focus on what is most important in our lives. In doing so and keeping a positive perspective, we are reminded that "gratitude turns what we have into enough." On behalf of the Town Board, we extend our best wishes for a healthy, safe, Happy Thanksgiving and Holiday Season!

Adoption of 2021 Town Budget
The 2021 Town of Monroe Budget was recently adopted at the November 16th Town Board Meeting. We are pleased to report that this budget reflects a -2.99% tax rate decrease on a Village home and a -3.52% tax rate decrease on a Town home (outside of Village). As we move ahead into 2021, we do so optimistically and keenly aware of our continued commitment to fiscal responsibility for our taxpayers.

Monroe Gives
Formed in 2019, Monroe Gives is comprised of local community members who spearhead an effort to provide wish list items for families in need, as designated by Monroe-Woodbury social workers. While all families remain anonymous, the outpouring of support enables those in need to experience a joyous holiday season. That's A Wrap For This Season's Food Truck Friday!
Friday, November 20th marks the end of this season's Food Truck Friday event. This event has offered a wonderful opportunity to foster a sense of community, food and fun as we take a "pause" from our normal bi-annual Food Truck Festival due to current COVID-19 gathering restrictions. We hope you had the opportunity to experience and enjoy some of these culinary delights!
We would like to thank all of our participating trucks including: Piranha Grill, Carreros Curbside Cafe, Tacos Pollo Loco, Kay& Kay Catering, Montego Bay Mobile Cafe, Fink's BBQ, DJays Fish Fry, Chompers, and Cousins Maine Lobster.
We remain hopeful that we will be able to once again host our traditional Food Truck Festival in June 2021. Stay tuned for additional details in the months ahead!

County Clerk, Annie Rabbitt Announces She Will Not Seek A Third Term |

Orange County Clerk, Annie Rabbitt recently announced that she will not seek a third four-year term in 2021. Annie was elected in 2013 and is Orange County's 37th County Clerk. We thank Annie for her many years of dedicated service on the local, state, and county level. She is an outstanding individual who has always been a friend to the Town of Monroe. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors beyond her current term. |

As a reminder, you are only assigned to a Town of Monroe Water District if you pay your water bill to the Town. Village of Monroe and Village of Harriman residents should contact their respective Water Departments with any questions or concerns pertaining to their water.
