The California Labor Market report revealed that Ventura County's June 2019 unemployment rate of 3.6% was up from a revised 3.0% in May 2019.
A total of 300 non-farm jobs were added in June 2019; however, 1500 jobs were lost for a net loss of 1,200 jobs which is a seasonal summer trend.
The loss in jobs includes 800 in government, 400 in educational and health services, 100 in professional and business services, 100 in financial services, and 100 in leisure and hospitality. The gain in jobs includes 200 in trade, transportation and utilities, and 100 in manufacturing.
