Reach Missions Update

REACH - MEDITERRANEAN BAPTIST

Our churches in Upper Egypt closed out 2025 with a spiritual revival. There were 16 adults who followed the Lord in believers’ baptism and they ordained a new pastor in El Minya. God is doing a great work in Egypt.

Please pray for the following:

• Our annual conference this year is July 27-30. This year we are doing a combined conference with our pastors and with youth. We are expecting over 400 people. Please pray and consider a gift to offset the cost. If you are interested in going as a worker, please let me know as soon as you can.

• As of now I need to travel to Egypt 2 or 3 times in 2026. I am thankful that I feel great and look forward to serving there. Please pray for the costs of these trips to be provided.

• We are still needing a great deal of funds to start a new church in Cairo. Thank you for your prayers for this.

REACH - JAMAICA

God was so good to protect our church and home during the recent hurricane. I was able to travel down in December with a few people to assess the damage and make plans for recovery. Reach was able to take in a small Christmas bonus for our workers in Noah’s Ark Children’s Home who had been working under adverse circumstances. In addition, your giving allowed the boys to enjoy a great Christmas.

Please make the following a matter of intense prayer:

• Pray for a team of Americans who will go down soon to replace the roof on the Hobgood house. It is patched and present, but must be replaced.

• Even before the storm we had a water problem that often prevented the boys from playing on the playground or enjoying a football (soccer) game outside. As soon as the ground is dried out from the storm, I will be leading a small group to install a sufficient draining system for the complex.

• A number of church members lost their homes entirely. Please understand their homes are nothing compared to most American standards. We rejoice that through the generosity of gifts and a few people going down to work, some of the folks have their homes rebuilt! Praise the Lord for those who are willing to give of their time and resources to help us rebuild in Jamaica.

REACH - YUCATAN

Thanks to our Board Member, Tim Goss, we were able to meet with some knowledgeable people in Chattanooga to discuss our future radio project at the Oasis in the Yaxcaba region. Hopefully, we can see this become a reality in the coming months.

If the Lord wills, I need to go down with a few men in February to encourage our pastors and to plan for a group this summer. Please pray for the special need we have of a Spanish speaking missionary to help us in training and overseeing this great work.

PRAISE!

I am so thankful that Travis Dykes and family are coming on board to serve with Reach. They have done a phenomenal job in Ethiopia and Botswana and have a real heart for training national partners. He will be our Director of Pastoral Training and Deaf Evangelism. The story of how this has come to be is simply amazing and I am so thankful for his partnership.

IN CLOSING...

I often joke that I hope I was better pastor than I am a missionary. For certain, being a pastor was much easier. Would you consider praying daily for me and the work of Reach Missions? That is the only way anything of eternal significance will be done.

• Pray our monthly supporters will increase.

• Pray God will open more opportunities for me to present the work in churches and to business people who will partner with us.

• Pray that God’s good hand will be on our feeble efforts.
