Board of Supervisors Highlights - January 7

Reorganization Meeting
The Board of Supervisors held the annual reorganization meeting on January 7. David Bachman was elected board chairman and John Hertzer was elected vice chairman. Several annual business items were defined, including establishing the time and place for the Board of Supervisors monthly regular and workshop meetings, designating the  Allegheny Times as the official newspaper for posting official public notices (the  Post-Gazette is the alternate official newspaper for emergency purposes), and appointing official engineering firms and the township solicitor. Additionally, the board appointed several residents to fill vacancies on the township's numerous volunteer boards and committees. An updated list of  committee members will be posted soon on the township website.

The survey should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and all responses must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16.

Winter Weather Reminders

The Moon Township Public Works Department reminds residents that the Code of Ordinances prohibits parking on township roads between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. This is extremely important during winter weather so that road crews can plow the streets without any obstacles. Also, please remember that the code also prohibits plowing or shoveling snow from driveways, parking lots and sidewalks into the streets.
