Fire Safety During the Holidays
During the holiday season, it is important to take notice of the fire hazards that are possible in your home. Things like candles and Christmas trees are perfect to bring in the cheer, but also can be potentially hazardous if not cared for and supervised properly. Below are some tips and tricks to keep your house safe this winter season.
- Get a tree whose needles don’t easily fall off or try and purchase an artificial tree that is flame resistant.
- Make sure your tree is away from heat sources such as heaters and fireplaces.
-Don’t overload your sockets when it comes to strands of lights.
- Dispose of any live tree less than four weeks after putting it up.
-Water your live tree daily.
- Always turn off tree lights before leaving the home or going to bed.
