Board of Supervisors Meeting Highlights - November 2

The Board of Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 2th at 6 PM.

At the meeting, the Board of Supervisors recognized The Women Impacting Public Policy and the Small Business Saturday Coalition, for representing Small Business Saturday, which takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The purpose of this event is to encourage consumers to shop at small, independently-owned retailers in their community.

The Board also approved the 2023 proposed budget for public display, which will be posted to the township website at moontwp.us

The Municipal Building is still open to the public while it is undergoing construction. We ask that you exercise caution while construction is underway.

The Board of Supervisors regular public meeting is held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Municipal Building. Watch live on MAG-TV, Comcast channel 14, or Verizon channel 37. Eaton Pavilion at Moon Park

The new Eaton Pavilion at Moon Park was celebrated on October 26th with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to make the announcement official and showcase the new pavilion signage. This was the final pavilion available for naming rights sponsorship in the Park and is located in between the Moon Park Ampitheater & the Splashpad/Playground.

Veterans Breakfast

Moon Township held a Veterans Breakfast at Robin Hill on Friday, November 4th. This event was free to all Veterans and their guest and was open to those who have served or are currently serving. Township offices will be closed Friday, November 11th.

Curbside Leaf Pick-Up

The Public Works Department will offer curbside leaf pick up beginning Nov. 7-11 and Nov. 14-18, 2022. The schedule will follow the resident’s regular garbage collection date. Simply place the leaves at the curb by 7 AM on pick-up day in a biodegradable bag. No plastic bags or cardboard boxes will be accepted. There will be no pickup on Veteran’s Day.

Curbside Brush Pick-Up

The Public Works Department will offer curbside brush pick-up beginning November 2, Monday through Friday. The schedule will follow the resident’s regular garbage collection. Simply place the brush at the curb by 7 AM on pick-up day. The brush should not exceed six feet in length and four inches in diameter and it should not be bundled or tied. All pick days are weather-dependent. Items placed properly at the curb will be picked up.

Submit a question, comment, or concern to Moon Township officials through the Citizen Request System.

The system allows residents to submit their concerns and track their resolution through ongoing updates, ensuring a timely response from Moon Township staff.

Ask Alexa or Google

Moon Township collaborated with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to bring voice-activated

e-gov to resident's households. This will allow users to download the skill of "Make it Moon" through their Google or Alexa app and then speak to their device to ask about events in Moon or report a problem.

This feature also allows users to find out when events are going on by asking questions such as "When is trick or treat?" or "What do I do with my tree limbs?" Also, it can be used like the e-gov service offered online through the municipality to report problems and ask questions.

Promote Your Event On The Community Bulletin Board

Is your organization or nonprofit looking to get the word out about an upcoming event? MCA-TV offers a bulletin board service for Moon Township residents to publicize their community program or event in-between regularly scheduled programming. The community bulletin board is an automated, computer-generated video graphics message service provided free of charge to all Moon Township residents as well as nonprofit groups and organizations.
