Brooklyn-based independent alt-rocker Moon Walker shares his latest gripping rallying cry with "PARADE," out today with an animated music video. Using a real recording of the No Kings protest outside of his apartment, the alt-rock artist built a brooding rallying cry of resilience.
On the musician's fifth record, WASTELAND COUNTRY, due out May 1 and available for pre-save now. Moon Walker continues to viscerally reflect on the world around him with biting, guitar-driven anthems. After a sold out show in Cambridge last night, the musician's high-octane tour continues across the U.S. this spring and summer. "PARADE" was made unlike any other Moon Walker song. On the creative crafting of the track, the artist shares, "The initial idea came when I was messing around with a baritone rubber bridge acoustic in open A tuning plugged into a very loud amp. I mic’ed the amp, and I also mic’ed the acoustic. I record all my music in a little room in my apartment, so obviously there was insane amounts of bleed. There was this cool thing that would happen where the two mic’s were almost fighting with each other."

Animated by Mchngts, the accompanying visual brings the strength of the message to life. The animator has been a longtime fan of the musician and was thrilled to collaborate. Mchngts shares, "Working on the music video for Moon Walker has been a great experience, its not everyday you get to collaborate with an artist that you're already a fan of so it makes the whole process that much more enjoyable."

Taking a maximalist approach, Moon Walker's Harry Springer liberally applies cinematic string sections, stacked harmonies, cathartic, wailing guitar solos and bombastic, dense arrangements across eleven piercing tracks. Gearing up to deliver his proudest work to date, Moon Walker shares, "This album is everything that I enjoy, everything I do, and everything I am, to the highest possible extent. This is an album that I have been dreaming of making since I first discovered my favorite albums like 'The Wall' and 'The Black Parade.' As a singer, guitar player, producer, songwriter and instrumentalist this is my best foot forward in every possible way."

In February, Moon Walker shared "YOU'RE NEXT," a stern warning and honest assessment of recent political events. It came together easily, beginning with a 12 string acoustic section that takes on a nearly harp-like arrangement with double tracked instrumentation. With string arrangements done by Martin Kutnar, Moon Walker shares, "This is a moment where they particularly shine. Lyrically, it obviously invokes the famous Niemöller poem, 'First They Came.' It was also the song that took the least amount of time to write and record." In its first month, the track has garnered over 2M streams.
