May 4-H Family Newsletter

We had a great turn out for our County Activity Day! Congratulations to all of our competitors and thank you to our amazing judges!  The participants qualified to move on to the district competition which will be held June 19th in Lillington, NC.

Broadway and Beyond...
This Friday, May 25 at 6:30pm the Moore Performing Arts 4-H Club will be putting on a free performance of various song favorites from Broadway and Beyond in the Fellowship Hall at Vass United Methodist Church. Please come out and support this talented 4-H group!

Fur, Fish and Game Camp Scholarship Opportunity
The NC Chapter of the Wildlife Society will be awarding a scholarship for three deserving youth members to attend one of the 2018 4-H Fur Fish and Game Rendezvous Camps at Camp Millstone located in Ellerbe, NC. The Susan Sharpe memorial scholarship was established in honor of Susan Sharpe who died of cancer in 2005. Susan was a strong supporter of outdoor recreation opportunities for youth. 
This scholarship will cover $250 of the camp registration cost of $440. All other expenses associated with attending camp will be the responsibility of the participant. More information about the camp and registration information can be found here.

Members from the Dare to Be Different 4-H Club helped with the Robbins Backpack Outreach event! Members helped fill book bags with school supplies for the elementary school in Robbins.

Moore County 4-H Summer Adventures Flyer

Moore County 4-H is dedicated to providing youth with positive and educational summer camp experiences.  4 -H Summer Adventures is a collection of educational workshops, field trips, and hands-on activities designed to give youth positive learning opportunities which focus on developing valuable life skills. These programs are presented by 4-H, the youth development program of Moore County Cooperative Extension.
