Pioneering Social Justice Media Since 1968

Hello JT,

We are excited to announce that our Fall 2024 evening seminar series will begin on September 4th with an in-person event at The Documentary Forum in Harlem featuring TWN Workshop graduate Yance Ford. Join us for light refreshments, a screening of the film "Power," and a discussion with Yance Ford about the film's production.

We also want to congratulate filmmakers in our community for their latest wins. Konrad Aderer's new project "They Took My Father Too" will receive support from the National Park Service. TWN Workshop Fellow Yusuf Demirörs will present his film at the Rockaway Film Festival. Our fiscal sponsor Un Colectivo Recuerda continues with its Cine Foro series featuring films by two TWN Workshop Fellows Cecilia Lim and Sujani Reddy. Lastly, TWN Workshop graduate Naz Habtezghi received an Emmy nomination for her short film "Birthing a Nation."

We thank the Diverse Filmmakers Alliance for inviting us to be part of "Centering Palestine on Screen." This film series aimed to uplift the voices of Palestinians, creating a space for NYC audiences to contextualize the ongoing conflicts happening abroad and at home. The series included four film screenings and conversations at the Brooklyn Public Library, the People's Forum in Manhattan, the Bronx Music Heritage Center and Maysles Cinema in Harlem.

If you're a Production Workshop graduate, distribution catalog partner or fiscal sponsoree with an upcoming festival screening, premiere, or other great news, do let us know. We want to spotlight you far and wide; your stories deserve amplified attention!

Don't forget to stay connected with us! Follow us on social media for updates on upcoming film screenings, workshops, and news from the TWN community.
