Dear friends and neighbors,

This week, House Democrats made good on our promise to compromise with Republicans and passed an updated Heroes Act which includes existing priorities like funding for coronavirus testing, tracing, treatment and vaccines, small business and unemployment assistance, food and housing relief, keeping our first responders on the job and our schools. We also provided additional support for airline, tourism, service and venue industry workers, as well as bolstered childcare funds. It’s long overdue for Republicans to meet us halfway and pass a bill that will protect our heroes, beat the coronavirus and put money in the pockets of the American people.

Standing with Our Airport Workers
Last week, I was proud to stand with our brothers and sisters of Unite Here Central Florida to fight to save jobs at the Orlando International Airport!
Getting my Flu Shot
Flu vaccination prevented an estimated 4.4 million influenza illnesses and 3,500 influenza-associated deaths in the 2018-2019 flu season. This week I got my flu shot at the Walgreens in Kissimmee to help protect my health and the health of our community. I encourage everyone to get their flu shot!
Supporting the Arts in Central Florida
Thanks to the Dr. Phillips Center for showcasing the arts in Central Florida, enriching our community & for the great tour of Phase 2 of Steinmetz Hall and The Green Room. Proud to be a co-sponsor of Save Our Stages Act to provide relief. The show must go on!
Celebrating Local Art
We celebrated the unveiling of a new work by local Boricua artist Suhely Sanchez! "Vote Like a Madre" is a beautiful mural symbolizing Afro-Latino culture, motherhood & climate justice.
