One candidate in the race for Colorado Springs City Council District 3, Rick Gillit, has a pending $1.5 million judgment against him. This pending judgment was cited in an ad against Mr. Gillit. Gillit will appear in court a week after the April 1st city council election.
-
On April 8th, Colorado Springs City Council members will reconsider their past approval of the ordinance approving the Karman Line Annexation. If they repeal the ordinance, the annexation plan will be scrapped. If they allow the ordinance to stand, the matter will go to voters. Here’s what some voters are thinking about this flagpole annexation.
-
The City of Colorado Springs has officially expanded the sit-lie ordinance downtown. Will you be more likely to go downtown now?
-
Sections of Tejon Street downtown are closed while the city renovates the area. If the scenery downtown is updated, will that make you want to go downtown more often?
-
The Colorado Springs City Council changed how people will be allowed to build accessory dwelling units on their property.
-
Federal Title 1 education funding is applied to help low-income students get an education. Here is how that federal money is applied in El Paso County.

-
One local citizen used the Colorado Open Records Act to learn about detailed communications within the Pikes Peak Library District. She was shocked to receive a $25 million estimate for her requested information. Yes, $25 million!
-
Denver Mayor “Migrant” Mike Johnston is in the news again this week. He and his staff are deliberately using an encrypted messaging application to communicate about illegal immigrant support issues. This encrypted application automatically deletes information, which is a violation of Colorado Law. Do you think he will be held accountable for this intentional violation of state law?
-

Your Colorado legislature is hard at work protecting criminals from the consequences of their criminal actions. This latest bill would forbid municipal governments from filing failure to appear charges against someone who fails to appear in court to answer for a previous charge. They work hard for criminals and illegal aliens. Us? Not so much.
-
The legislature also wants to lower penalties for attempted murder if the actual act of murder isn’t completed as planned. If this law passes, a person could shoot a gun into a crowd of people, and only receive probation if nobody dies. Yes, they are really pursuing this.
