Enriching the lives of those compromised by circumstance or conditions.
HUGS FOR YOU!
HUGS is a periodic newsletter published by the Wenk Family Charitable Foundation to provide stories of organizations and people who are making strides towards ‘enrichment’ as a result of programs we support or initiate. In a world seeming wrought with sad news and strife, we hope you’ll find it as refreshing as we do, to hear positive stories and encouraging potential. We hope you take a few minutes to enjoy what we’re sharing here…and if you do – please send us a note.
Healing mental illness, addiction, trauma and many other life conditions.
Hope Meadows Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides equine therapy and advocates for those suffering with mental illness.
They believe in a holistic approach to treatment combining horses, life skills and the natural environment to aid in the healing process.
Hope Meadows provides Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to children, adolescents, adults, groups, and families. Each specialized treatment team is comprised of a Mental Health Specialist, Equine Specialist and one or more horses, creating a safe, healing environment for groups and individuals.
Their team of Equine Specialists have experience and certifications in the EAGALA model of EAP and Natural Lifemanship model of Trauma-Informed EAP.
The Wenk Family Charitable Foundation is funding scholarships for 10 underprivileged families to
participate in the Hope Meadows "Power Tools for Living" Program. This unique equine-assisted learning program works with both children and their parents to strengthen emotional resiliency skills and healthy behaviors.
