New Hampshire Updates

NH Paid Family & Medical Leave Plan launches Jan. 1

More Details on Upcoming NH PFML Program:

Program is for all size businesses & Nonprofits. It is voluntary and was designed to be a employee recruitment/retention tool by providing salary protection for employees who need short term leave for qualifying reasons.
Plan Options are for 6 weeks paid leave or 12 week paid leave. Funding may be 100% employer paid, split funding or 100% payroll deduction.
Employers who purchase directly through MetLife, the State's insurance partner, may qualify for a BET credit of 50% of PFML 6 week premium. However, this is only if purchased through Metlife.
You may purchase the PFML through MetLife or other insurance carriers.

Restaurants - In 2021 the Vermont Legislature added a clause to Act 70 that requires the Department of Liquor and Lottery to assess the economic impact of to-go alcoholic beverages on the licensees that were approved to sell . Special Needs Support Center is hosting a Ribbon Cutting and Open House event on Thursday, Oct 20th at 4 PM. You are invited to join us as we share our new space and several exciting programs and projects including our Arts & Voices Mural Project. The vision behind the Arts & Voices Mural is to recognize individual everyday experiences. Contributing artists to the project are of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and disabilities. The event will be held at our office, 129 S. Main Street, White River Junction, VT.

This year, UVBA is expanding our successful Restaurant Coupon Book to include Retail & Service Businesses as well. The purpose of the books is to drive foot traffic and promote shopping locally for our Upper Valley Businesses. Over the last 2 years, the books have been highly successful and this year we plan to print 1000 copies to distribute.

Who should participate? Restaurants, Retailers, Salons, Spas, Auto Detailers, Massage, and anyone who has a service perfect for gift giving.

Cost? Free to submit a coupon. Space is limited so UVBA members will be given priority.
