Murrieta Fire Department
Date announced for 2022 Firefighter's Barbeque
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Murrieta Fire & Rescue (MFR) is hosting its annual Firefighter’s Barbeque on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Murrieta’s Town Square Park. In celebration of MFR’s 75th anniversary, this year’s event will be bigger than ever with live music at Murrieta’s Town Square Park Amphitheater, in addition to a variety of activities throughout the day. The Murrieta Firefighter’s Barbeque is one of Riverside County’s longest running events, with the first barbeque held in 1948. As is the tradition, barbeque guests will enjoy a smoked tri-tip lunch, music, beer and wine garden, bag toss tournament, and vendors’ market. Attendees will also get to cheer on fire explorers from throughout Southern California in the annual Fire Explorers “Muster” Competition.
The day will be filled with fun, food, and entertainment, and is a way for the community to show their support for the dedicated public safety personnel serving at MFR. It is also a way for MFR to show its appreciation for the community it has served the past 75 years. In addition to the traditional barbeque fare, this year’s event will feature additional food options and general vendors, live music, and a DJ. Fun for all ages, this is an event the Murrieta community won’t want to miss.
Visit the Murrieta Fire & Rescue Firefighter's Barbeque website for more information.

Murrieta PD Updates
Murrieta PD partners for blood drive and debuts 30-year badge
Murrieta Nationally Recognized for Safety
Murrieta ranks the 3rd safest city in the nation when considering cost of crime per capita! Analyzed by MoneyGeek, a financial tech company, the study used standardized crime data from the FBI combined with research on the economic cost of crime by type of incident. We are proud to be ranked so highly when considering the cost to residents.
Rankings like these wouldn’t be possible without Murrieta's engaged and supportive community. Remember, when you see something, say something.
Blood Drive Honoring Ami Hicks
Join the Murrieta Police Department in honoring Ami Hicks and Cole Harr by donating blood to help save lives. The blood drive takes place on Friday, March 4, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Murrieta Community Center. Check out location details here.
Murrieta PD Celebrates 30 Years of Service with New Badge
On August 1, 2022, the Murrieta Police Department will turn 30 years old and in honor of this celebration, Chief Conrad has authorized a new 30th Anniversary badge to be worn from August 1, 2022 until July 31, 2023. The anniversary badge is a replica of our very first badge created in 1992, but will be silver in color with some modifications added. The anniversary badge will honor the original 34 employees (both sworn and non-sworn) who started working at the Murrieta Police Department in 1992, with the number “34” inscribed at the very top of the badge. The badge is available for purchase to those uniformed personnel who currently are assigned a badge. In addition, the badge will also be available for purchase to those who have retired, in good standing, with the Department, in the form of a flat badge with the words “retired” above the “34.”
Visit the Murrieta Police Department website for more information.
