Remote Work Program Updates

Your CWRU Wellness Program continues to offer programs as well as one-time events during this period of remote work. This means our programming has switched to Zoom. While we prefer you attend in real time so that you can participate in the discussion and ask questions, you can watch the video after the event and still receive attendance credit.

Here is how it works:
  1. Register as normal for classes that are of interest.
  2. You will be given class details and access to a Google sheet for attendance.
  3. Attend the classes at the prescribed time as much as possible.
  4. After the class, which will be recorded, all registrants will receive the Zoom video in their inbox.
  5. After participating either in real time, or in the week following the class, "sign in" on the Google attendance sheet.
  6. Attend 85% of the sessions to be eligible for the Wellness Program Incentive.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Ann.
Take Good Care of YOU with Self-Care BINGO
As Coast to Coast wraps up this week, the Wellness Team is offering a new, lower tech activity to help faculty and staff with self-care during the remote work period.

Each week for three weeks, starting April 27th participants will receive a bingo card with self-care activities and resources. Get a traditional BINGO each week or work to fill out the whole board within three weeks and earn a chance for a free seated massage.

Your Survey Answers Helped!
We offered a survey in the April 1st newsletter and 94 of you took the time to tell us what you need. In response to some of the most common questions we want you to know:

  • You want shorter classes. We are offering a shorter class (30 minutes of content with 15 minutes for Q & A) starting in May. See the details about the E.A.S.E. series below.
  • You need help balancing work and family obligations, particularly those of you with kids at home. We will continue to update our remote resources page with offerings for you to review. Our "How to Stay Sane and Resilient When Working from Home" webinar from last week is available as a video.
  • You want workouts! Our partners at One to One Fitness are offering free live courses to everyone (you need not be a member).
  • You want more self-care resources. Sign up for Self-Care BINGO and choose from a wide variety of self-care activities.
  • You are concerned that your manager has unrealistic expectations. If you are in this situation, it is probably time to schedule a one on one meeting. Here is a great article with steps to constructively talk to your boss. Just like you, your manager hasn't been in this situation before. So we are all learning new skills during this period of remote work.

Thank you for answering our questions. Supporting you is our number one goal!
NEW Series! E.A.S.E. into Peace of Mind
colorful_tree_chat.jpg
Being in the present is easy when it feels good - when it soothes our souls and delights our hearts. Unsettling times such as these, times of heightened struggle, angst, sorrow... make being in the present a lot more difficult. And, yet, being here - moment by moment - is more important and useful than ever. Join Heidi Weiker for a practice-based, methods-centric series of sessions on E.A.S.E-ing your body, mind and heart into the present. This series is 12 weeks for 30 minutes each week with a 15 minute Q & A period afterwards.
