More Than I Dreamed Possible!
Write It Down
I remember decades ago when a friend of mine told me that I should start journaling. It was quite an emotional time for me and I found myself apprehensive about doing it. It was as though I felt that if I journaled it would shorten my life. Nothing but a fear tactic waged against me at a time when I didn't know how to fight back.
Many years later, I started journaling. That has been one of the best therapeutic endeavors I hav e ever done. It has been an amazing journey for me of self-discovery and overcoming so many strongholds. My journals have become the most prophetic message guiding my life. I'm always amazed when I browse my journals and the words are more needed at that moment than they were when I first wrote them.
You see, poured into those pages all of things that I had been afraid to share with anyone. God was not judgmental; He only offered a listening ear as I poured out my heart to Him and He literally re-wrote my life.
One of the amazing things is when the shifting takes place. In the process of the journey I never really knew when the paradigm shifted from fear to fearlessness. Yet, as I stroll through my journals it is so apparent. It started off with my crying out to God to deliver me of fear; and ended with me exclaiming, "I am not afraid." This shifting happened in so many areas of my life.
During this season of journaling, it has brought me such revelation as to the purpose God has for my life. These were prophetic words. It is amazing that so many seek the prophetic words of others when God has already placed inside of you everything you really need to know. Others' words are mere confirmations. The reason we have such a difficult time in hearing Him is that we are too busy to take that quality time for ourselves in getting to know ourselves.
Journaling is one of those things that allow you to move from bondage to freedom. It allows you to move from a selfish mandate to a selfless one, if you allow it. I say if you allow it because it is like anything else; if you do it you will be successful. The success is up to you. You can't think that if you do it that overnight all your problems will be solved. No, that isn't how it works. Your success is totally dependent on your diligence and consistency and your being honest with yourself.
Sometimes it is hard to get started as it was for me. Oh but I'm so glad that I did. Now, I'm able to help others begin their journey to self-discovery and fulfillment of purpose as I help them help themselves in moving in the divine direction God ordained for their lives.
Journaling helped to unleash the greatness God envisioned for me. I was being coached by every word I wrote down. The beauty of it is it can do the same for you. Visit The ME Place and find out more about teaming up with me in your quest for self-discovery in becoming all God envisioned so you can experience a more abundant life than you ever dreamed possible.
