When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs." A second time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Tend my sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep. Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go." (He said this to indicate the kind of death by which he would glorify God.) After this he said to him, "Follow me."
We will be celebrating Communion this Sunday May 1st. ALL are welcome at the table.

Let us know peace.
For as long as the moon shall rise,
For as long as the rivers shall flow,
For as long as the sun shall shine,
For as long as the grass shall grow,
Let us know peace.

A: Then let us worship our God

The annual "Day of Caring" sponsored by Pequot Lakes High School is WednesdayMay 4th. Students from the school will be at Grace from 8:30-12:30 pm that day.

Grace volunteers are needed to join the 6-8 PLHS students in cleaning up the yard and garden areas around the church.

Volunteers should:
    * Dress for the weather. Call the Johnson's at (218) 831-7183 with questions about the weather that day.
    * Bring rakes, trimmers, leaf blowers, etc., if you can, please!
    * Bring a "bag lunch".

Thanks for your willingness to serve in this way! Spring is coming!

May Missions

May 1st is Native American Ministries Sunday in the United Methodist Church. Our missional offering this week will go this special Sunday conference ask. Please note on your offering if it is to be directed to this worthy cause.

The rest of May's missional giving will go towards our church gift to the "Love Offering" to be received at the Annual Conference, held later this month. Next week, we will include more information as to the designations for these gifts.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
O Great Spirit, whose breath gives life to the world, and whose voice is heard in the soft breeze; We need your strength and wisdom. Cause us to walk in beauty. Give us the eyes ever to behold the red and purple sunset. Make us wise so that we may understand what you have taught us. Help us learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. Make us always ready to come to you with clean hands and steady eyes, so when life fades, like the fading sunset, our hearts come to you without shame. Amen

– Traditional Native American Prayer, UMCH #329, in honor of Native American Ministries Sunday.

United Women in Faith
Thursday, May 5th, all United Women in Faith (formerly United Methodist Women) are invited to gather together to enjoy fellowship and to learn how "Nature" can be healed through the practice of the "Sabbath". Our program speaker, Jim Chamberlin, comes from Happy Dancing Turtle, a facility located in Pine River. This is a nonprofit facility dedicated to growing good stewards of the planet by providing education, programs and experiences that inspire wonder and empower change. Our United Women in Faith have special memories of our visit and tour of the facility many years ago. Making paper was, especially, a 'high point' of our visit.
