More Than Toilets...

Home Care
Already we've received quite a number of calls regarding caring for people's homes this upcoming summer. I know, it's only March, but many of you will be leaving in April and May so now is the time to find the perfect person (or company) you can trust in your home while you're gone.
I mentioned in the last issue that it is so frustrating when people think all you need to do is flush toilets and run the faucets. Egad!!! We do SO MUCH MORE than that!
Dead Bug
First off, we customize every home check for each and every client. We all have things we care about -- bug phobic, dirty baseboards, sentimental trinkets. And every home has different amenities so it is important to make sure each home check is tailored to each individual home.
We start with a basic checklist and to that we add everything that makes your home unique.  Some of these additions are pages long. Others are simple. We welcome both!
In fact, we have three signup documents which include a comprehensive home profile to identify everything we need to know to properly care for your home. A home is a huge investment -- why would you leave it empty or have someone check it who does not do this professionally?
Home Security
We are you when you can't be here. That means we also have a security document that says we are authorized to be at your home and to bring in vendors should you need them. This is very important if you live in a managed community or should there be a need for a first responder!
There is a litany of reasons to engage a professional home care company. The horror stories we've heard from new clients who used a housekeeper or a gardener or the pool man to check their home in the past -- I shudder even to think about it!
Here are just a few testimonials for our absentee home care services:
Clean _ Shiny Home
--From a client who returned after giving us her home mid-summer due to a failed prior home care person: "
We are back! OMG -- my house has NEVER been so clean! What a great homecoming and I got to meet Robin in person yesterday -- what a sweetheart."

--From a new client last year: " Hi, I just wanted to say how thrilled I am with your company! It's not easy trying to set up and maintain a new home from across the country. Your help has been invaluable. As I told Robin "you guys are the best"!

Patio Furniture
--From a client who let us reupholster her chairs, put new carpeting in her closet and bring in a fully decorated Christmas tree -- we also do her landscaping and care for her pool: "
Looks so wonderful -- the yellow chairs, the carpeting in my closet, the bright outdoor lights, the new plants in the driveway .... WOW thank you! Great to be here and so appreciate your work to have the place looking perfect for Christmas! Wishing you a wonderful holiday and the happiest of New Years!"

--From a long time client: " Thank you for all your efforts this summer and for the wonderful care you took of our home."

--From another happy client: " Got here today and everything looks great.  Wanted to say a big thank you for the cushions being set out and even the outside table cleaned. Makes such a difference when you come to that. Appreciate the service."

--Just received this week: "Passport has been delivered, thank you again for helping me out. You are a true gem Brittany. Jim  and I are so grateful and happy to have Executive Errands. The best service in the valley."

After more than 14 years helping people, I could go on and on with testimonials like that!

We love what we do! And it is important for us that you feel like a priority -- that your home matters to us and that we will do whatever it takes to make your living experience here in the desert easier and enjoyable. It's important to us because you ARE a priority!

If you are already a client, here are is the checklist to review before you leave this summer:

1. Be sure to notify Executive Errands® of your planned schedule for the coming year (or as far out as you know).

Security Code
2. Have you changed your door locks or security alarm code? If so, we need to know and may need new keys or a new code.

3. Has anything changed at your home? Did you add a golf cart or an automobile that will be staying throughout the year? Did you get a new appliance that requires special attention? Do you need your patio covers or cushions replaced before the sun rots them completely away?

4. Has your 'authorized key holder' list changed?

5. Have you changed your billing or contact information?

6. Which home maintenance services do you need before the heat of summer gets here? AC service? Roof inspection for loose tiles or rodent access points? Pest control service? Pool equipment checks or upgrades?

Home Improvement
7. If you'd like home remodeling done over the summer -- whether a small handyman task or a large project -- now is the time for us to get the quotes and scheduling in place before you go.

8. Are there any routine maintenance schedule changes? For example: Where we've been doing housekeeping twice monthly, should that go to once monthly? Where pest control was quarterly during the winter, should it be monthly for summer? Do you need any new service providers (pool or housekeeping or windows)?

9. Have you changed your position on summer thermostat or water heater settings?

10. Is there anything being left that should go to charity, the food bank or otherwise disposed?

When you're ready, we can set up a quick meeting to update your client profile (or you can call or email any updates) and we'll be all set for another summer of caring for your home like it was our own.
