NEW Changes in ISO 14001

The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) standard is currently undergoing an update, with the new version—ISO 14001:2026—expected to be published in April 2026.

The ISO 14001:2026 changes will include a focus on

• Climate Change Integration
• Broader Environmental Focus
• Structured Change Management
• Life-Cycle & Supply Chain
• Clarified Planning Structure

Reminder: Changes for ISO 9001

Major updates are coming for ISO 9001:2015, the revision is expected Fall of 2026. Once published, most likely there will be a three-year transition period to update your Quality Management System (QMS).  

The ISO 9001:2026 changes will include a focus on

• Digital transformation (AI, Automation, Data Analytics
• Culture and Ethical Behavior
• Sustainability (ESG, 2024 Climate Change Amendment)
• Supply Chain Resilience (managing supplier risks, supply chain continuity)
• Risk and Opportunity Management
