Amanda Rivera de Garcia has a BA in Elementary Education with a TESOL endorsement. She has worked in adult education for 15 years and is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Amanda began working for Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe during the Spring of 1998 as a student worker. For two years she helped the LVSF program with day to day duties supporting tutors and students while also working on her college degree. Amanda then transitioned to the position of Workplace Literacy Specialist and worked in this capacity for 8 years.

From 2009 to 2015, Amanda worked part-time in Early Childhood Education as a Home Visitor for United Way. During this time, she was also able to stay at home with her son.
