Measuring Impact

WHRC launched a direct mail campaign in August to connect more Washington homeowners with information about property tax relief programs they may qualify for. Since the campaign began, we’ve seen an increase in calls from homeowners seeking property tax assistance compared to the same period last year. Here’s a look at the impact so far.

We’re encouraged by this response and will distribute additional mailers in November to help connect more homeowners with available resources.

Want to be a part of this outreach? Help your clients explore their eligibility.

Share the Washington State Association of County Assessors’ Property Tax Exemption Eligibility Tool for Senior Citizens and People with Disabilities to help clients explore whether they may qualify for property tax relief. The tool reflects recent program changes, including increased income thresholds across counties, a new standard deduction option, and expanded property taxes covered by the exemption beginning in tax year 2027.

Recent Highlights & Wins!

Housing Washington 2026

We had a wonderful time at this year’s Housing WA conference connecting with partners, catching up with colleagues, and strengthening relationships across the housing community. From tabling and sharing WHRC resources to facilitating our own session, it was a great opportunity to share knowledge, learn from others, and celebrate the work happening across Washington to expand access to affordable homeownership. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, joined our session, and took the time to connect with our team!

Black Homeownership Spokane’s Re-Envisioning Generational Wealth Workshop

WHRC was glad to be part of Black Homeownership Spokane’s Re-Envisioning Generational Wealth Workshop at the MLK Center in Spokane. Our Executive Director and Board Member Jacquelynne Sandoval joined the event to connect with attendees, share WHRC’s homeownership resources, and engage with community members and partners working to expand access to homeownership and build generational wealth. We’re grateful for opportunities like these to strengthen local connections and support community-led efforts to advance Black homeownership.
