Don't miss National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1st! This free, family-friendly event runs from 6 - 8 p.m. at Rotary Park, 2200 Mayberry Loop Road.
Join the Morehead City Police Department, Fire-EMS and other area agencies for this annual community event. There will be games, food, great raffle prizes, vehicle extrication demonstrations by the Fire-EMS Department and more!

Board of Elections Message for Voters
Candidate filing for the 2023 election has concluded, and the Carteret County Board of Elections would like to share updates with Morehead City voters on what they can expect at the polls this fall.
You can view a list of candidates who are vying for the three Morehead City Council seats that will be available.

Fourth of July a Success
The Fourth of July celebration in Morehead City was a great success this year. The Main Event Band played to a large crowd at Jaycee Park, and as night fell, fireworks bloomed over the waterfront. Enjoy the day all over again in this 60-second video!

Spend Your Days Enjoying Morehead City Parks
If you're spending time outdoors in this heat, make sure to stay hydrated and wear lightweight, loose clothing.
If your children want to play outside, consider any of our Morehead City Parks, including the splash pad at Shevans Park, at 1501 Evans Street. The splash pad is for children ages 12 and under, and is open from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily.

Parks and Recreation Classes and Events
Morehead City Parks and Recreation, at 1600 Fisher Street, offers a wide variety of programs and events for various ages. You can learn more about these classes and programs through our website, and register in advance.
One upcoming event is the Kid's Fishing Palooza, and registration opens August 1st! Children ages 3-15 can be registered for this event on Saturday, Sept. 9. The cost is $5 per child, and bait is included. Some rods are available, however you can also bring your own. There will be fun prizes for different categories.
You can register online for Kid's Fishing Palooza or sign up the day of at 8:30 a.m.
