MCFD and Auxiliary Raise Funds
October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year, the Morehead City Fire-EMS Auxiliary and Morehead City Fire-EMS raised funds for a valued member of our community who was recently diagnosed and is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
On October 26th, a check was presented to this individual for $6,174.30. This amount was raised through t-shirt sales and generous donations from the community. In addition to MCFD wearing breast cancer awareness shirts throughout this month, the Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores and Western Carteret fire-EMS departments wore "department supporter" shirts with the same logo, and the Beaufort Fire Department contributed to the cause. Pink shirts were available for sale to the public online in advance and at the NC Seafood Festival, where they quickly sold out.
Thank you to the Carteret County community for being a part of our mission to support this individual! You can view photos of the various departments in their t-shirts here.
