Know-How to Help Your Garden Grow Now!

Have you visited our Community Demonstration Garden? This multi-use space showcases a variety of sustainable gardening and landscaping techniques and was created to educate and equip the community with the expertise to implement the size, scope, and scale of a garden or landscaping that is appropriate for their residential setting.

Located behind the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center (14075 Frederick Street), the Garden features a variety of elements that residents can replicate in their own homes by purchasing items at local retailers or online, including raised planter beds, tower/wall planters, vermiculture, composting equipment, seedling racks, fruit trees, and a pollinator’s perennial garden.

Join us at our next free workshop on November 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and learn about winter garden issues and spring planning tips!

For operating hours, upcoming events, and more information, visit moval.org/garden.

Pet of the Week: Rufus

Our Pet of the Week is Rufus, a black and tan, seven-year-old male German Shepherd.

Rufus is quite the gentleman. He is very attentive, tender, and affectionate, with a playful side that will keep you smiling all day, and fully entertained by his fursonality. He's also good on a leash and eager to learn more tricks!

If you would like to make Rufus or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please call 951.413.3790 or visit moval.org/pets.

The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is located at 14041 Elsworth Street in Moreno Valley.

Note: Our featured pets tend to get adopted very quickly when they are shared in our newsletter and on social media. If they have already been adopted when you inquire, please consider one of the other loving pets in the shelter who are also looking for their forever homes.
