Let's Light Up The Season Tomorrow!

The holidays are right around the corner, and that means it's time for our Snow Day and Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

First, join us tomorrow, Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Snow Day as the Civic Center Amphitheater transforms into a magical winter wonderland with real snow!

Tickets are $6 for residents and $8 for non-residents. Register now at moval.org/holidays. Once purchased, wristbands can be picked up at the Conference & Recreation Center at 14075 Frederick Street or at will-call on the day of the event. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided.

Then, after the snow-filled fun, gather with us at 5:45 p.m. in front of City Hall for our annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Enjoy some live music and entertainment as we light up our spectacular 30-foot Holiday Tree. We will also be welcoming a very special guest all the way from the North Pole!

A New MoVal Attraction is Taking Flight

Join us for a very special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new Flight Deck Bike Park on December 18, from 4 to 6 p.m., at 13460 Morrison Street, on the southern side of Morrison Park near the Fire Station.

The event will feature light refreshments, a resource fair, and helmet and shirt giveaways (while supplies last), as well as a limited number of bicycles available for visitors to borrow during the celebration.

Flight Deck Bike Park features the largest Velosolutions pump track in Southern California and includes the region's first adaptive track for riders of all abilities. The park also offers the first asphalt jump lines in Southern California, along with an asphalt bicycle playground designed for young riders. In addition, a one-thousand-foot connecting path incorporates Ambient Glow Technology that uses sunlight-charged glow rocks to illuminate the trail after dark. This feature marks the first use of this technology in Southern California.

Inspired by the City's aviation heritage, the park was designed to offer a cycling experience that provides a welcoming environment for riders of all ages, abilities, and skill levels.

Pet of the Week: Speckles

Our Pet of the Week is Speckles, a male blue merle and brown, one-year-old Catahoula mix.

Speckles has one of the biggest and brightest doggie smiles you will ever see! He genuinely is a very happy hound, with a playful side to him that will keep you entertained and laughing all day. He's good on a leash, and when he's in a dog park, Speckles loves to chase tennis balls and dog toys.

If you would like to make Speckles or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please call 951.413.3790 or visit moval.org/pets.

The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is located at 14041 Elsworth Street in Moreno Valley.

Note: Our featured pets tend to get adopted very quickly when they are shared in our newsletter and on social media. If they have already been adopted when you inquire, please consider one of the other loving pets in the shelter who are also looking for their forever homes.
