Mayor Gutierrez to Deliver
Memorial Day Remarks Online and on TV

Normally, the City of Moreno Valley's annual Memorial Day event features music, presentation of the colors and remarks at the City's Veterans Memorial at the Civic Center. This year's event will feature Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley, delivering his remarks from a distance, via the internet and local cable TV.
"The fact that we're physically distancing and can't gather this year does not change or diminish the deep sense of gratitude and reverence we have for the brave women and men who've lost their lives defending their fellow Americans and our Constitution," said Mayor Gutierrez.
The Mayor will deliver his remarks via the City's
YouTube channel
, its
Facebook page
and local cable channel MV3 at 11 a.m., Monday, May 25.

New "Senior Eats" Service Now Helping
150 Residents Stay Nourished
|
|
Modifying an initiative announced by Governor Newsom recently, the City of Moreno Valley has created a new meal delivery program to help protect senior residents, the population most at risk from coronavirus.
MoVal
Senior Eats
, which is already operating at capacity serving 150 vulnerable seniors, delivers two nutritious restaurant meals a day to their homes, five days a week for the next two months. This program has the added benefit of providing critically needed business for local MoVal restaurants struggling to stay afloat during the crisis.
The program, a modified version of California's first-in-the-nation Great Plates Delivered program, is funded through a federal/state/local partnership in which the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) pays 75% of the cost, the state pays 18.75% and the City is responsible for the remaining 6.25%.
