Help NBC4/Telemundo and MoVal
"Clear the Shelters"

Supporters of the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter and the many pets it rescues have a chance to do a lot of good during the month of August as the Shelter joins with NBC4/Telemundo to "Clear the Shelters." The annual event, set in Moreno Valley for Saturday, Aug. 15, encourages pet adoption with deeply discounted pet adoption fees of just $20 -- a savings in some cases of as much as $100 or more.
In addition, the "Clear the Shelters" campaign is partnering with GreaterGood.org to provide matching funds for every dollar donated to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter any time during August up to a maximum total match of $10,000.
Donations to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter can be made online at www.GreaterGood.org. All donations will be matched up to a maximum total of $10,000.

MoVal Movies: Drive-in Series

Moreno Valley's popular summer event, MoVal Movies, is taking the show on the road this month as Moval Movies: Drive-in Series! Because health precautions make gatherings impossible right now, MoVal Movies will show each Thursday in August at a different drive-in venue. In fact, the City's Employment Resource Center has remained open all along, helping residents and businesses weather the economic storm. Now it's launched a new online resource called the Hire MoVal Job Board, featuring one-click access to local employers looking to fill positions. Need a Reminder for Putting the Garbage/Recycling Out?

Moreno Valley has launched a new waste collection calendar and reminder system. You can look up the collection schedule for your address and sign up to receive collection-day reminders (email, phone call, text message). You can also print your collection schedule, or embed it into your personal iCal, Google Calendar, or Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
The new system includes a material-look-up tool called the Waste Wizard. Try it out: Search for materials like "Newspaper," "Wrapper," "Pool chemicals," "Sharps," or "Clothes."
