MoVal Marks Digital Inclusion Week by
Celebrating its New CLiC Initiative
The City of Moreno Valley is marking national Digital Inclusion Week by celebrating its work to narrow the digital divide. The City's new CLiC initiative (Computer Learning & Internet Connectivity) to bring more residents into the digital age includes 150 WiFi hotspots that can be borrowed from the City's three library branches; creation of WiFi Garden locations (free WiFi access at various City facilities -- see the searchable map here); public-use computers at libraries and the Senior Center, when it reopens; and a free, comprehensive virtual community portal filled with information to help build users' computer knowledge and skills.
Please Don't Feed or Approach Wild Burros
No one wants to see Moreno Valley's wild burros get hurt or killed. As this brief video explains, that's why it's illegal to approach or feed them, because the less afraid of humans they become, the more likely the burros are to stray into neighborhoods and onto roadways. Let's keep the wild burros safe by keeping them wild. Please report injured burros to 9-1-1.
City Park Playgrounds Reopen
with Safety Measures
With these new safety guidelines from the California Department of Public Health, Moreno Valley park playgrounds are now open again:

  • Masks over the mouth and nose are required for everyone 2 years of age or older with caregiver supervision at all times to ensure mask use.
  • Only use the playground if different households can maintain a physical distance of 6 feet.
  • Consider coming on different times or days to avoid crowds.
  • No eating or drinking in playgrounds to ensure masks are worn at all times.
  • Wash or sanitize hands immediately before and after using the playground.
  • Elderly and anyone with medical conditions should avoid playgrounds when others are present.
  • Limit visit to 30 minutes when others are present.

At almost seven acres, Moreno Valley's Celebration Park, at 14965 Morgan Ave., is packed with attractive amenities, including picnic tables and shelters, barbecues, a playground, a walking path, convenient off-street parking and security lighting and more. You're Invited: Fun Halloween Activities
In what could become new Moreno Valley traditions, the City is inviting residents to share their Halloween spirit by taking part in some super-fun holiday activities:

October 5-30
Great Pumpkin Hunt
Spot a pumpkin in a park, take a picture using the hashtag #MoValParks to win an enchanted prize. Helpful clues will be posted weekly on City of Moreno Valley’s social media pages.
 
October 19-25
Howl O’ Ween Pet Contest
Submission of pet photos dressed up in their best costume and posting a photo by October 25. Winners in four categories will receive a prize.
 
October 24
MoVal Movies Drive-In Series
A Halloween family-friendly drive-in movie event with a showing of "Hocus Pocus" (rated PG). Pre-registration required. Food vendors and portable restrooms will be available.
Cost: $15/vehicle. 
Time: Gates open at 7 p.m; movie begins at 8 p.m.

October 30
Trick or Treat on Wheels
FREE trick or treat event from the safety of your car.
Families are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and become part of the drive-thru fun and maybe even win a prize! Event will include music, devilishly decorated vehicles, and special treats.
Time: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
