Riverside County Expands COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility to those 16 and Older
Shots in arms! That's the goal as the County of Riverside has expanded COVID-19 vaccination eligibility to anyone ages 16 and older. Now Moreno Valley residents have more opportunities to get vaccinated.

Vaccinations alongside proper safety protocols are the keys to fully re-opening the local economy. The pandemic has hit California especially hard, but there is light at the end of the tunnel as Riverside County has advanced to the Orange Tier of the State's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

As of April 7, 2021, the following organizations will be allowed to expand their capacities:
  • Retail businesses may increase capacity to 100 percent indoors
  • Places of worship, movie theaters, restaurants, as well as museums, zoos, and aquariums may increase indoor capacity to 50 percent with modifications
  • Gyms, as well as wineries, breweries and distilleries may increase indoor capacity to 25 percent indoors with modifications

MVU Recognized for Excellence in
Electric Utility Safety
Moreno Valley Utility (MVU) received national recognition as a first-place recipient of the American Public Power Association's (APPA) 2020 Electric Utility Safety Award of Excellence. Each year, the APPA recognizes public utilities with the lowest safety incidence rates.

To be considered for this honor, utilities must submit annual injury and illness incidence rate report forms every year for three consecutive years. Winners are determined by the lowest overall recordable injuries and reported illness for all staff - whether they are in the field or office. The City of Moreno Valley is proud to offer residents safe, reliable, and economical public electric service.
